Svend or Sven Aage Holm Sorensen, a Danish designer, initially crafted lamps for Fog & Morup and Lyfa in the 1950s before venturing into entrepreneurship. He founded Holm Sorensen & Co in the mid-1950s, initially focusing on desk lamps. However, Sorensen's innovation extended to creating his distinctive brass and copper alloys, which he utilised to fashion sculptural lights throughout the 1960s. Characterised by rustic edges and surfaces achieved through burning and cutting the metal, his designs, including this wall lamp, epitomise his unique artistic vision and craftsmanship.
