The AEO armchair was designed by the radical design collective Archizoom Associati in 1973 and produced by Cassina. It is notable for its unconventional construction, consisting of a tubular metal frame, fabric sling backrest, and rectangular cushion seat on a molded polyurethane base. The modular, deconstructed form and use of industrial materials reflect Archizoom’s experimental and critical approach to furniture design in the 1970s, challenging traditional notions of comfort and aesthetics. Newly reupholstered and restored.
